Testimonial: Karlia Scurry and Mother, Gloria Johnson

My daughter has always shared a passion for dancing and performing.  However, due to her struggle with anxiety and other unique challenges, performing arts has proven to be difficult and overwhelming for her -that is until we discovered ASET Academy. 

 Prior to joining ASET Academy, my daughter had participated in several art programs including karate, swimming etc.  These programs did prove beneficial to her, but she was not doing what she enjoyed the best ─ dancing.   She eventually did start dance classes, but I did not see much progress after trying it for about a year. 

 Summer 2012, my daughter and I attended one of ASET Academy's stage performances. We were both impressed. Immediately after, I asked my daughter if she wanted to stay with her old studio or try the new one. Without hesitation, she said,” I want to give the new one a try”.

 Since joining ASET Academy, my daughter's confidence has soared! She has done three stage performances, which in the past have always been difficult for her.  Just recently, my daughter asked me if she could audition for a play at her school! I sometimes find it hard to believe this is the same child who walked with her head down less than a year ago, and cried every time she would go on stage. 

I am thankful for the support the staff & parents have shown her since joining ASET, and for truly believing in her!!!!
