ASET Academy of Performing Arts is a dedicated community
of disciplined artists, invested parents,
and
supporters of our youth.

Imagine a premier academic and performing arts
organization, in the heart of Nashville, whose programming
caters to pre-professional youth artists; an outreach effort founded by young people for young people.

ASET Academy of Performing Arts focuses on holistic education through arts based learning programs, including projects that weaves the arts through science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.A.M.) in a way that youth can embrace.

ASET Academy is that flagship non-profit organization that successfully provides a framework that continues to be a conduit for change in our collective community.

Together we can
continue to bridge the gap between low and high risk youth and available community resources.

ASET builds and strengthens our community by providing safe & nurturing environments for positive youth development and growth through holistic professional arts instruction and life skills for the 21st century global economy.
Angel Adams - Executive Director

Our Environment

There are three elements that make our Academy conducive to establishing such a community-driven/safe environment:

(1) The teachers/instructors acting as a guide and not a crutch,
(2) Allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and
(3) Promoting respect for all things and all people

We believe that each student has the potential to bring something unique and special to our Academy. ASET helps students truly develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. We assist in self-discovery so they can express their own opinions and nurture their own ideas. ASET has a vision of a world where people learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between other, as the core of what makes life so fascinating. This is our environment and ASET will enforce and continue to promote this environment throughout our community.

1. Does ASET Academy offer Financial Aid?
Yes. We offer financial assistance all year-round to a family in need. Parent must bring in Tax Return information to be approved for financial aid. We can cover up to 50% of each student's tuition costs. We do not cover 100% costs of costumes and/or application fees. See Below for more info.

2. What is the difference between Scholarships and Financial Aid?
Well, think of it like a "collegiate style" preparatory. Any student can receive financial aid. A student who is interested in a Scholarship must show a need as well as show interest for the scholarship through Auditioning. Auditions are held every April for the upcoming Year. Click Here

3. How do your classes work?
Great question. First, all of our students receive attire from our Academy which is taken care of through the registration fee! We will take their sizes and order their studio attire for you (leotard/shirt, tights, and black shorts). Secondly, when student arrives, parent must sign them in and every first class of the month, classes are open to parents. Curriculums, syllabi, and lesson plans are always available upon request and follow TN Education Standards. Our techniques are holistic and we teach with discipline, leadership, life skills, and excellence at the forefront.  Click Here

4. When does my student perform?
Great Question. We have two major Academy Productions per year. One is in May - "The Wiz: Straight Outta Oz". We also have opportunities to join the Competition Company Teams where our students participate in both in-and-out-of-state performances and competitions. Click Here

5. Is the Academy Year-Round?
Yes. We offer various Academies during each season of the year, including Summer programming. Take a look at our Apply Today to view or Academy and Course offerings.

We hope this has been helpful. Any other questions, email us at Admin@ASETAcademy.org!
